As voting continues today, It is important to note that the “vote and go” policy which was enacted by the ruling party, MPLA is currently being widely adhered to. This adherence has given rise to the calmness and serenity all around the streets of Angola.
The long-running opposition Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), which calls for voting and staying, urges people to do so because doing so will help ensure the elections are fair. However, a patient wait in a safe place for a peaceful outcome of the elections is winning.
Asides the security of the people and electorates being more assured via this policy, every voter who casts a ballot on August 24 is required to leave the polls with the spirit of patriotism and adherence to the laws governing electoral conduct.
Angolans are truly hyped for the outcomes of the elections. Stay tuned!
