Global Petroleum, an AIM-listed upstream oil and gas exploration company with a primary focus on Africa and the Mediterranean, has officially rebranded as Geo Exploration.

According to a company statement, the name change was approved during its annual general meeting on December 5, 2024, and has since been registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. As part of the transition, the company’s AIM ticker will change from “GBP” to “GEO” on March 18, 2025.

Geo Exploration has been actively seeking a farm-out partner for its Petroleum Exploration License (PEL) 94 in Block 2011A, situated in Namibia’s Walvis Basin, since August 2024. In January 2025, the company reported interest from undisclosed entities, which it described as “well-known” players in the oil and gas industry.
