Kirinyaga county on Wednesday played host to the country’s top three politicians amid rising politicians barely 10 months to next year’s General Elections.
Ruto has not seen eye to eye with Uhuru since the June 1 Madaraka Day celebrations in Raila’s Kisumu backyard.
Ruto has in recent weeks said he helped Uhuru and Raila ascend to power only for them to gang up against him.
Deputy President William Ruto arrived at the stadium shortly after 11 am amid wild cheers from the crowd and went straight to greet the dignitaries, among them Raila at the podium.
He later went to welcome Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera who is the chief guest at this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations.
Among other guests present at the stadium are ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Kanu Chairman Gideon Moi, Ford-K party leader Moses Wetangula, Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua and Chief Justice Martha Koome.
Others include a host of MPs and Senators led by Speakers Justin Muturi (National Assembly) and Kenneth Lusaka (Senate), Cabinet Secretaries Najib Balala, Farida Karoney and Fred Matiang’i.
Governors Ann Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Mwangi wa Iria (Murang’a), Martin Wambora (Embu), Nderitu Muriithi (Laikipia), Anyang’ Nyong’o (Kisumu) were also present.
