Libya and the European Union have stressed the importance of safeguarding the independence and sustainable operations of the National Oil Corporation as a cornerstone for Libya’s long-term growth and prosperity. EU Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, made the statement following a meeting with NOC Chairman Masoud Suleiman in Tripoli on October 1.
Orlando congratulated Masoud on his appointment as NOC Chairman and highlighted the corporation’s important role in ensuring the stability and production of the energy sector in Libya. The discussions focused on ongoing cooperation to reduce methane emissions and advance renewable energy, strengthening Libya’s energy sector while contributing to Europe’s energy security.
