The Gas for Africa programme, working with NNPC Limited, has released the Nigeria Gas and Power Infrastructure Map 2026 — the first comprehensive update of the country’s energy infrastructure picture in more than ten years.

The map brings together upstream, midstream and downstream infrastructure in a single reference document, capturing gas production assets and reserves, pipelines and processing facilities, and power plants, CNG mother stations, LNG terminals and gas-based industries, intended to support investment decisions, policy-making and industry planning.

“This map lays bare the scale of what Nigeria has to offer. Behind every pipeline, every processing plant, and every power asset on it stands an opportunity,” said NNPC group chief executive Bayo Ojulari, inviting partners to use the tool to identify investment opportunities across the country’s gas value chain. Gas for Africa regional director Amel Grabsi called the publication a critical tool for turning investor interest into committed capital.

The update comes after a decade of change in Nigeria’s gas sector, including new pipelines, processing facilities and power projects, alongside rapid growth in compressed and liquefied natural gas infrastructure. It was developed with support from NNPC and private sector partners including Seplat Energy, ILF Engineers, Cakasa, Nipco, Powergas, Elektroon Energy, CAPSL, Morpol and Genesis Energy Group.
