The National Oil Corporation has announced that Akakus Oil Operations successfully completed the drilling and commissioning of injection well I-30INC186, which will significantly enhance reservoir pressure and support the reactivation of several wells that had suffered from pressure decline.
The project involved drilling 6,000 discs daily at the advanced exploration well I-NC186. As a result of intensive efforts and meticulous reservoir analysis, optimal well locations were selected, ensuring high reservoir pressure re-engineering efficiency and improved production performance.
The success supports the reactivation of several wells whose combined capacity was estimated at 4,000 barrels per day, representing the highest expected production since the field began operations in 2008. The NOC said this presented an opportune moment to apply the company’s expertise in managing reservoirs with new and complex characteristics and innovative technologies for specialized oil production.
The achievement reflects a commitment to preserving reservoir assets, adhering to best engineering and technical practices, and maximizing recovery. This commitment enables sustainable production through pioneering scientific research, including supporting the national oil sector with specialized tools for long-term development and production enhancement.
