Egyptian-Jordanian Partnership Delivers $21.8M LPG Storage Solution in Aqaba
Egypt’s Petrojet has joined forces with Jordan National Shipping Lines Company to secure a substantial $21.8 million contract for constructing liquefied petroleum gas storage facilities in Jordan’s strategic southern port of Aqaba.
The comprehensive deal, awarded by the Jordan Liquefied Gas Manufacturing and Filling Company, encompasses the engineering, procurement, and construction of two spherical LPG tanks, each with a capacity of 2,000 metric tons. The project will be delivered on a turnkey basis within a 24-month timeframe.
JPRC Chairman Abdul Rahim Al-Buqai highlighted the partnership’s significance, stating it reflects growing confidence in regional cooperation for executing strategic energy projects. Meanwhile, JPRC CEO Hassan Al-Hayari explained that the new facility will support more efficient LPG distribution networks, reduce transport costs, and strengthen Jordan’s energy supply resilience.
This project represents a significant step forward in regional energy infrastructure development and demonstrates the increasing collaboration between North African and Middle Eastern energy companies in addressing regional energy security challenges.
