International energy and development partners announced expanded commitments to clean cooking initiatives across Africa, aiming to increase access to modern and environmentally friendly household energy solutions.

The program promotes alternatives such as liquefied petroleum gas, biogas, and efficient cookstoves. Health experts emphasize that clean cooking significantly reduces indoor air pollution, particularly benefiting women and children.

Funding will support infrastructure development, local manufacturing, and distribution networks. Governments are working with private sector partners to ensure affordability and scalability in rural and urban areas.

In addition to health benefits, the initiative is expected to create jobs across supply chains, including production, sales, and maintenance services.

Energy analysts say clean cooking represents one of the most cost-effective interventions for improving public health while supporting climate and development objectives.
