Production at the Angola LNG plant rose 20% in November 2025, underscoring the growing role of gas monetization in sustaining Angola’s hydrocarbon output. According to the National Agency of Oil, Gas and Biofuels, the facility produced 5.23 million barrels of oil equivalent during the month, exceeding forecasts of 4.3 million boe and averaging 174,456 boe per day.
LNG accounted for the majority of output at 147,358 boe per day, supported by propane, butane, and condensate production. Associated gas production totaled 3.2 million standard cubic feet per day, with reinjection remaining a priority to maintain reservoir pressure. Of total gas volumes, 992 mmscf per day were supplied to the ALNG plant, while 375 mmscf per day were used for power generation at oil facilities.
Downstream LPG production also remained resilient. In the Cabinda Association, LPG output reached 352,366 barrels, averaging 11,746 barrels per day, driven primarily by propane and butane production. These volumes highlight LPG’s role in supporting domestic energy supply and reducing reliance on imports.
Meanwhile, Angola’s oil output averaged 1.06 million bpd in November, slightly below the forecast of 1.10 million bpd. Total crude production for the month reached 31.8 million barrels. Upstream activity remained robust, with 11 drilling units operating across onshore, shallow-water, and deepwater assets.
Operations were conducted on 21 wells during the month, including development drilling, interventions, and abandonment activities, totaling 16,730 meters. The sustained level of drilling and well activity reflects continued investment in maintaining production from mature assets while advancing Angola’s strategy of balancing oil output with expanded gas utilization.
