Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced that the Mabrouk Oil Operations Company has resumed full commercial operations at the Mabrouk oil field, following the successful conclusion of a trial production and capacity testing phase that was launched immediately after the completion of maintenance and redevelopment work.
During the trial phase, the field produced approximately 30,000 barrels of crude oil per day, and cumulative output since the start of trial operations has reached around 2.5 million barrels. Under the field’s development strategy, actual production capacity is expected to rise to 40,000 barrels per day as operations ramp up.
The NOC described the milestone as another success for Libya’s oil sector, noting that the Mabrouk field had been fully rehabilitated and upgraded following severe damage and a complete shutdown in previous years. The corporation said the achievement goes beyond simply restoring output, as it also reflects the success of its broader strategy to rehabilitate damaged oil assets and restore their operational capabilities in support of the national economy.
The corporation extended appreciation to the employees, engineers, technicians, and staff of the Mabrouk Oil Operations Company for their role in what it termed a national accomplishment.
