The Eni-led Mozambique Rovuma Venture has signed a long-term contract with a consortium comprising Technip Energies, JGC and Samsung Heavy Industries for project delivery services on the Coral Norte Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project, one of Mozambique’s most significant upstream developments currently under construction.

The contract covers the advanced stages of development for Coral Norte, which is designed as an enhanced replica of the already operational Coral Sul FLNG facility — currently producing over five million tonnes of LNG annually. The hull of Coral Norte was launched at a South Korean shipyard in January 2026.

By replicating the feed gas composition, field location and proven engineering design of Coral Sul, the project partners aim to deliver a cost-effective, de-risked execution with greater certainty on timelines and investment returns. Loic Chapuis, President of Project Delivery and Services at Technip Energies, noted that the approach “underscores leadership in delivering innovative and complex LNG solutions to support long-term energy supply and security in Mozambique and globally.”
