Dangote Industries Ltd. has pledged that its petroleum refinery will drive the development of support industries across Nigeria, including pipelines, transportation, and retail networks.

Dr. Abayomi Shittu, Regional Sales Director for Southeast Dangote Cement, said the company’s subsidiaries are on track to make Nigeria “self-sufficient in cement, agriculture, mining, and petroleum production.”

The refinery has already begun disrupting global supply chains, exporting fuels to various countries across Africa and Europe. This comes amid an ongoing legal battle between Dangote and Nigerian regulators over continued fuel imports despite the refinery’s capacity to meet local demand.

“Dangote Industries recruits graduates of engineering and other technology-based courses and trains them in various aspects of industrial operations” to continue creating value for the economy, Shittu added.
