Libya’s Waha Oil Company, a subsidiary of state-run National Oil Corporation, announced on Sunday that it has brought two new gas wells into operation at its Farigh field. The company stated that the wells are producing at daily rates of 14 million and 12 million cubic feet of gas respectively.

Waha described the step as vital in supplying natural gas to meet local demand, reflecting the ongoing efforts to enhance domestic energy security in Libya. The company operates as a joint venture with TotalEnergies and ConocoPhillips, bringing together international expertise and local knowledge to develop Libya’s gas resources.

The addition of these wells represents a tangible contribution to addressing Libya’s energy needs and demonstrates the operational progress being made despite the challenging operating environment in the country. The successful commissioning of these wells highlights the continued commitment of Waha and its partners to maintaining and expanding production capacity.
