The 2023 presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has appointed Kebbi state governor, Atiku Bagudu as Chairman of a strategic committee on the roadmap to revive agriculture in the country.

Tinubu announced the appointment Monday in Minna during a town hall and agro-business submit for Norther Nigeria

He said the Governor Bagudu committee is mandated to produce a policy document that would form priority in the total reformation of agriculture in the APC administration if elected president in 2023.

He assured farmers of necessary protection of farm produce in the market,  adding that “that is why I promise you that commodity exchange will start immediately you elect me as President in 2023”.

He urged the farmers to cast their votes for APC adding that the future  is assured and we will stop destroying our extort potentials. 

He said, “agriculture is the hope and prosperity of farmers and Nigerian economy hence the need to prioritized the sector for easy access to agric facilities and improve the country Gross Domestic Product (GDP)”.

In a welcome address, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state, explained that Niger state government has continued to support the development of agriculture in crop, livestock and fisheries production. 

He said that his administration has reactivated 19 moribund irrigation schemes in the state in addition to the rehabilitation of over 300km rural access roads through the implementation of the Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP II) programme. 

The governor said that the state has attracted five International Investors for the production diary and other associated livestock products adding that  over 1,300 hectares of pasture plots have been fully developed and basic facilities provided in them.

The event was also attended by the national chairman of the APC,  Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, Director General of the presidential campaign council, Simon Lalong, Kebbi state governor Atiku Bagudu among others dignitaries.
