TAQA Expands African Operations with Major Egyptian Facility Opening

International energy solutions company TAQA has officially opened a comprehensive 12,000 square meter integrated operations facility in Egypt’s Kattameya Industrial Area. The new complex, featuring corporate offices, a state-of-the-art workshop, and dedicated training center, represents a significant expansion of the company’s African operations.

Located in the Katameya region of Cairo, the facility serves as TAQA’s primary hub for managing Egyptian operations and as a strategic springboard for broader African activities. CEO Khalid Nouh emphasized that the investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to Egypt’s energy sector transformation and carbon emission reduction goals.

The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, who highlighted how TAQA’s operations align with the ministry’s six-pillar strategy focused on increasing production and accelerating discoveries. The partnership aims to unlock green energy potential, including hydrogen and green ammonia development.

TAQA, established in Saudi Arabia in 2003, strengthened its Egyptian presence through the acquisition of Al Mansouri Petroleum Services Company. The company currently provides directional drilling, wireline services, well testing, and inspection services, with plans to add coiled tubing, fracturing, and gas compression capabilities.
