The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has finally declared the candidate of the All Progressives  Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof. Charles Soludo, as the winner of the Anambra State governorship election.

The Returning Officer of the election, Professor Florence Obi, announced Soludo as the winner of the keenly contested election  which lasted three days due to several hitches at exactly 1.51 am on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.

According to Prof. Obi, the APGA candidate polled a total vote of  112, 229 to beat his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, who polled 53807.

Sen. Andy Uba of the All Progressive Congress (APC) came third with  43285 votes.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force have denied report of the killing of an unidentified man during the Anambra State Governorship Supplementary Election in the Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.

Information has it that soldiers patrolling around the distribution and collation centre at the Ihiala Local Government Headquarters reportedly shot and killed a yet-to-be-identified man.

Reacting in a telephone chat, the Zone 13 Police Headquarters Public Relations Officer, PRO Nkeiru Nwode, said nothing of such happened.

She added, “We don’t have any report to that regard and I don’t think such thing happened.”
