Sierra Leone’s information minister has said that Sunday’s armed attacks on key installations amounted to a planned and coordinated attack on the security of the country.
But Chernor Bah that the culprits, including current and former military officials, had failed.
He said those captured were being interrogated.
A manhunt is under way for further insurrectionists, and for some prisoners who had escaped when jails were attacked.
A nationwide curfew has been lifted but a night-time curfews will still be in force.
