Namibian and Chinese firms have signed an agreement establishing a joint venture focused on clean energy and the oil and gas sector, with both sides committing to value addition, natural resource beneficiation, technology transfer, skills development and local manufacturing capacity in Namibia.

The partnership is expected to support ndustrialization, attract investment, create jobs and advance Namibia’s long-term economic transformation goals, and was signed as part of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s official visit to China, where she has been working to deepen economic cooperation and secure new investment partnerships between the two countries.

“This partnership is a practical step towards Namibia’s ndustrialization and economic transformation. It reflects our commitment to value addition, skills development, technology transfer and the creation of sustainable jobs for Namibians,” read a statement from the Namibian presidency.
