Longitude Engineering Secures Major Contract for Egypt’s West Delta Deep Marine Phase XI Project

Petroleum Marine Services (PMC) has contracted Longitude Engineering to perform detailed engineering and project management services for the Phase XI Deepwater Project of the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) concession offshore Egypt. The project represents a significant expansion of the WDDM development, operated by Shell through the joint venture Burullus Gas Co., located approximately 90 kilometers offshore northern Egypt in the northwestern Nile Delta region.

The WDDM concession encompasses 17 discovered gas fields in water depths ranging from 300 to 1,200 meters. As the EPIC contractor for Phase XI, PMC’s project scope includes the tie-in of three subsea twin deepwater natural gas wells, featuring sophisticated engineering solutions for challenging deepwater conditions.

The project’s technical specifications include five subsea M-shape rigid jumpers fitted with deepwater connectors, multiphase gas meters, and sand detection systems. The compact twin-well configurations, with each subsea jumper spanning approximately 25 meters, will be installed close to existing deepwater gas pipeline systems to optimize production efficiency.

Longitude Engineering will manage the detailed design of deepwater rigid jumpers, development of fabrication drawings, onshore and offshore handling procedures, and comprehensive engineering support including process and stress modeling. The company previously contributed to WDDM Phase X, which was awarded in January 2024, bringing valuable experience to this latest development phase.
