Libya’s National Oil Corporation has reported that its subsidiary, Zueitina Oil and Gas Company, achieved a significant milestone with the launch of its second injection unit, which will contribute to increased gas injection and higher crude oil production rates across its operations.
Crude oil production at Field 103D has reached 15,000 barrels per day, representing an increase of 8,000 barrels following this achievement. The success also enabled the opening of five new oil wells, bringing the company’s total production to over 31,000 barrels per day.
The NOC emphasized that this accomplishment was achieved despite challenging circumstances and limited funding, demonstrating the resilience and technical capabilities of Libya’s domestic oil sector. The injection unit represents a strategic investment in enhanced oil recovery techniques designed to maximize production from existing fields.
The production increase comes at a critical time for Libya’s oil sector as the country works to stabilize output and attract international investment following years of political instability and infrastructure challenges.
