Libya’s National Oil Corporation has launched trial operations of a 42-inch strategic gas pipeline linking the Intisar A/103 field to the Brega gas distribution network, ending a 16-year construction stall and opening a new chapter for the country’s energy infrastructure revival.

The pipeline is expected to recover approximately 150 million cubic feet of previously flared gas per day, while improving transport efficiency from the Intisar, Irada and Sahel fields. It is also designed to resolve chronic pressure imbalances that had repeatedly disrupted production across several fields.

In a testament to local capability, the project was completed by Libyan technical teams drawn from Sirte and Zueitina, working under the supervision of the NOC’s maintenance department — a point of pride for an organisation working to rebuild credibility with international investors.
