The National Oil Corporation’s Chairman Masoud Suleiman met with a delegation from US energy company Chevron to discuss expanding joint cooperation in the energy sector, as part of the NOC’s plan to strengthen partnerships with leading global energy companies and open new horizons for international cooperation aimed at developing Libya’s oil sector according to the latest global standards.
The Chevron delegation included Vice President for Business Development Frank Mount, General Manager of Operations Joel Koch, the Operations Manager for High-Risk Environments Daniel Hipp, and Senior Engineering Manager and Operations Technician Kenneth Davis. The meeting discussed ways to expand cooperation, particularly in exploration, production, and field development, as well as exploring investment opportunities in renewable energy projects and modern oil industry technologies.
NOC Chairman emphasized that the corporation attaches great importance to attracting major international companies with extensive expertise to enhance production efficiency and develop the sector’s infrastructure, noting that the current phase presents an important opportunity to boost investment and implement strategic projects that would increase production rates.
Chevron representatives expressed appreciation for the ongoing cooperation with the corporation, affirming the company’s desire to expand its activities in Libya and contribute its technical and operational expertise to developing Libyan oil fields, while also supporting training and capacity-building programs for national staff.
Before this meeting, the Chevron delegation also met with Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, reaffirming the company’s interest in expanding its investments in Libya’s oil and gas sector. Dbeibah, in turn, stressed the government’s commitment to providing a stable and secure investment environment that enables major international companies to return to Libya and resume their operations.
