The Chairman and Board of Directors of Libya’s National Oil Corporation have discussed ambitious plans to increase production and reviewed the 2026 project portfolios of several key operating companies during general and annual meetings held at the NOC headquarters in Tripoli.
The meetings, which included participation from boards, management committees, general managers, and specialists, covered the operations and future plans of Waha Oil Company, Mellitah Oil & Gas, Brega Petroleum Marketing Company, and the National Catering Company.
NOC Chairman Masoud Suleiman commended the companies’ achievements and efforts over the past year, stressing the need to give top priority to worker safety, training, environmental protection, and the completion of metering systems to strengthen governance and improve operational accuracy.
The meetings also reviewed the results of 2025 projects, during which the companies recorded notable achievements despite limited budgets. Waha Oil Company reached a peak daily production of 371,000 barrels of oil and 291 million cubic feet of gas, in addition to drilling one exploratory well and 61 development wells. Mellitah Oil & Gas recorded its highest daily production rate at 180,000 barrels of oil and 1,583 million cubic feet of gas, and drilled one development well.
The National Catering Company successfully provided high-quality catering and accommodation services to sector companies at oil fields and ports, while Brega Oil and Gas Marketing Company inaugurated and operated 27 instant gas filling stations to meet the needs of vital sectors across the country. These achievements reflect the NOC’s commitment to securing essential resources and ensuring the continuity of production.
