Libya’s state National Oil Corporation has reported that Harouge Oil Operations Company successfully brought well B-119 in the Amal field online, achieving a production capacity of 1,100 barrels per day as part of the country’s strategic plan to increase production rates.
The NOC explained that the well was brought online after drilling to a depth of 10,250 feet over 45 days. The formations exhibited low permeability, necessitating hydraulic fracturing to enhance production. Technical teams then connected the well to the production line, installing the gas and oil pipelines.
The well is currently operating using artificial lift technology to ensure sustainable production. The successful completion of well B-119 represents another step in Libya’s efforts to boost its oil production capacity amid ongoing efforts to stabilize and expand the country’s energy output.
