The Executive Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company, Sayed Selim, has conducted an operational visit to the headquarters of Egypt Gas and the Natural Gas Vehicles Company, known as Cargas, to assess work progress and monitor compliance with the Ministry of Petroleum’s expansion targets.
During the inspection, Selim reviewed execution rates for both companies and examined Egypt Gas’s household natural gas connection programme alongside Cargas’s vehicle conversion and refuelling rollout. He directed management teams to strengthen Process Safety Management and Asset Integrity systems through continuous monitoring, with a focus on raising safety standards across the transport and distribution of natural gas.
Selim underscored natural gas as a safe, economical, and environmentally sound fuel, and emphasised the importance of aligning both companies’ operational performance with the broader expansion plans set by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. He praised results achieved to date while calling for sustained improvement in safety and quality frameworks.
Cargas, an affiliate of the Ministry, specialises in converting and refuelling vehicles to run on compressed natural gas. Egypt Gas is the company responsible for establishing and operating Egypt’s national natural gas distribution network.
