Algeria’s national oil company Sonatrach and Mozambique’s Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for bilateral cooperation in Mozambique’s oil and gas sector. The MoU covers collaboration across the entire hydrocarbon value chain, including exploration and production, transportation, downstream operations and service provision.
Under the agreement, Sonatrach will support ENH in assessing the feasibility of connecting natural gas distribution networks to households. The Algerian company will also share technical expertise in petroleum geology, engineering and operations, while providing specialized training programs to enhance the technical capabilities of ENH’s employees. The MoU deepens energy cooperation between Algeria and Mozambique and underscores Sonatrach’s ambition to strengthen its presence as a key player in Africa’s energy landscape.
