Global consultancy group ABL and Egypt’s Petroleum Safety and Environmental Services Company (PetroSafe) have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on technical performance and safety solutions across Egyptian onshore and offshore energy facilities.

Under the agreement, ABL’s Egypt-based businesses — including energy and marine consultancy ABL and design and engineering consultancy Longitude — will support PetroSafe across a broad range of technical services throughout the lifecycle of Egyptian energy assets and subsea infrastructure.

Longitude will deliver training to industry stakeholders and operating companies in Egypt, while ABL will provide marine assurance services on a call-off basis, including vessel suitability surveys, inspections, audits, pre-purchase and condition surveys, dynamic positioning trials, and critical systems consultancy. The partnership will also extend to consultancy on ports and harbours, including decarbonisation services.

Stewart Brown, Head of Process Engineering at Longitude, said that the Egyptian offshore energy landscape is both busy and rapidly expanding, and that embedding process safety management fundamentals early — through professional training and integrated asset integrity approaches — is essential to achieving safe, reliable, and resilient energy assets.

Abdulhameed Yehya, ABL’s Engineering Projects Lead in Egypt, noted that the combined capability of ABL, Longitude, and PetroSafe delivers a holistic technical offering that integrates niche expertise in engineering, safety, HSEQ, and marine assurance. This latest MoU extends a previously signed collaboration agreement on asset and data management between the parties.
