Police are investigating an incident in which a 17-year-old student was beaten to death in Kiambu county.

The form four student at Gathiruini boys secondary school in Kiambu county was lynched by girls from a neighbouring school in an attack.

DCI director George Kinoti said the student together with five others sneaked out of their school and crept into a girls dormitory at Komothai girls secondary school on Thursday at 4am.https://0b68908168e80280750e14a9a5ae866d.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html

“They had under the cover of darkness tiptoed into Phoeb House for an unknown mission, before they were spotted by some girls who immediately raised alarm, attracting the whole school,” Kinoti said.

Kinoti said the school’s guards, teachers and students all rushed towards the dormitory to find out what was happening.

“The other five boys managed to trace their way back to their school while the deceased was cornered by the angry students and staff and beaten,” he said.

He succumbed to the injuries at a local hospital. The body of the student is being preserved at a local mortuary ahead of planned postmortem.

“Crime scene detectives later visited the scene and recovered planks of wood suspected to have been used to assault the suspect,” he said.

Police have cautioned members of the public to desist from taking the law into their own hands and accord suspects the opportunity to face justice in a court of law.
