Angola LNG has temporarily halted operations at its liquefied natural gas plant in Soyo, Zaire Province, to carry out a roughly 32-day maintenance programme aimed at improving the reliability, safety and efficiency of its facilities.
The intervention covers the Angola LNG plant itself, the Sanha Complex and the Sanha floating production, storage and offloading unit offshore Cabinda, and will temporarily halt production of LNG and associated products, resulting in a significant reduction in output and export volumes for the duration of the works. Upstream operations tied to gas supply for the LNG plant, including production linked to the Sanha facilities, will also be affected.
Angola LNG says the shutdown is part of routine operational planning necessary to maintain the long-term integrity of its assets and support future production stability, with operators implementing measures to manage the impact of the temporary output reduction. Operations are expected to resume gradually once maintenance work and required safety inspections are complete.
The Soyo facility remains one of Angola’s most important energy assets, playing a central role in the country’s gas processing strategy, LNG exports and efforts to extract more value from its hydrocarbon resources.
