Singapore-based Nortrans Offshore has secured a flotel assignment at Block 15 offshore Angola in partnership with Netherlands-based SBM Offshore, a provider of floating production facility design, construction, installation, and operation services.
Nortrans’ 500-person-capacity MSU DP3 flotel Nor Spirit has been awarded a two-year contract to support SBM Offshore during Block 15’s offshore operations, assisting the life-extension programme for the FPSOs Saxi and Mondo by providing offshore accommodation and support services throughout the campaign.
Nortrans said the vessel’s dynamic positioning capabilities, continuous gangway connection functionality, and large accommodation capacity make it well-positioned to support safe and efficient offshore operations throughout the project, adding that the award strengthens its presence in the offshore accommodation market. Block 15 is operated by ExxonMobil in partnership with Azule Energy, Equinor, and Sonangol, with SBM Offshore having secured ownership and operation of the FPSOs Mondo and Saxi Batuque until 2032 under a prior contract extension.
