Energy data and intelligence company TGS has been awarded a large, high-end 4D streamer seismic contract offshore Angola — one of the most technically demanding categories of seismic acquisition — with operations scheduled to commence in early July 2026 and running for approximately eight months through into the first quarter of 2027. The identity of the client was not disclosed.
The contract will be executed using the advanced Ramform acquisition platform combined with TGS’s proprietary multi-sensor GeoStreamer technology — a configuration that TGS says is specifically suited to the high-precision, repeat-survey requirements of 4D seismic programmes used to monitor reservoir performance and guide production optimisation in mature offshore fields. CEO Kristian Johansen said the award reinforces TGS’s strategic position in the Africa region and provides the company with vessel utilisation visibility well into early 2027, further underscoring TGS’s ongoing commitment to delivering the highest quality data solutions to clients across the evolving energy sector. The award reflects continued operator investment in advanced subsurface data acquisition offshore Angola as producers seek to maximise recovery from existing fields and reduce operational uncertainty ahead of future development decisions.
