Weatherford International has won a deepwater integrated completions contract from Esso Exploration & Production Nigeria, an affiliate of ExxonMobil, in a significant new award that reinforces the momentum of offshore drilling and subsea investment programmes along the West African coastline.

The contract falls within Weatherford’s well construction and completions portfolio and covers integrated upper and lower completions systems for deepwater wells offshore Nigeria. The scope of work is focused on supporting well integrity, operational reliability, and efficiency throughout the lifecycle of offshore wells — critical requirements in the technically demanding deepwater environment of the Niger Delta.

Weatherford said the completions equipment will be configured through its global supply chain network while supporting local execution and in-country service delivery in Nigeria, ensuring that the work contributes to local content objectives. Girish Saligram, Weatherford’s President and CEO, said the contract reflects the company’s ability to deliver integrated completions solutions for deepwater operations, providing technologies designed to support well integrity, reliability, and efficient execution in complex offshore environments.

The award adds to the growing pipeline of deepwater development activity across the West African continental margin, where operators are increasingly advancing offshore drilling and subsea investment programmes targeting long-term oil and gas production growth.
