Oceaneering has won an integrated offshore installation contract with Burullus Gas Company — a joint venture between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and Shell Petroleum — for a gas field development project at the West Delta Deep Marine concession offshore Egypt, one of the country’s most significant offshore gas assets.

The contract was awarded to Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group and covers transportation, offshore installation, and commissioning of a refurbished subsea umbilical and a 2,000-metre replacement thermoplastic composite pipe flowline. Oceaneering will also procure and integrate the thermoplastic composite pipe and supply remotely operated vehicle and survey services to support the offshore operations. Refurbishment work on the umbilical was carried out at Oceaneering’s umbilical manufacturing facility in Rosyth, United Kingdom, with offshore operations expected to commence on an accelerated schedule.

The West Delta Deep Marine concession is located approximately 90 kilometres offshore Egypt on the north-western part of the Nile Delta and encompasses 17 gas fields at water depths ranging from 300 to 1,200 metres, making it one of Egypt’s most complex and strategically important offshore developments.

Chris Dyer, Senior Vice President of Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group, said the award highlights the company’s ability to deliver integrated offshore installation solutions on an expedited timeline to restore production. He said that by bringing together logistics management, refurbishment expertise, vessel operations, and ROV services under one roof, Oceaneering can provide an end-to-end, single-source solution that accelerates project execution and delivers significant value.
