The African Development Bank has secured a historic $11 billion funding package, marking one of the largest resource mobilization efforts in its history. The funding significantly boosts the bank’s capacity to support development across the continent.

The resources will be directed toward infrastructure, climate resilience, energy access, and private sector development. Priority sectors include transport, agriculture, and digital infrastructure.

AfDB officials say the funding strengthens the institution’s balance sheet and enhances its ability to respond to Africa’s development needs.

Development partners have praised the milestone as a strong vote of confidence in the bank’s governance and impact record.

Economists say the funding will play a crucial role in accelerating inclusive and sustainable growth across Africa.
