Egypt has exported 150,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas from the Idku liquefaction plant to Turkey aboard the LNG ENDURANCE tanker operated by France’s TotalEnergies, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The shipment follows another carrying 155,000 cubic meters of LNG that departed the Idku plant for Italy the previous week, transported on the New NATURE tanker operated by Shell International.

The Idku liquefaction plant, located on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast near Alexandria, has a combined annual capacity of 7.2 million tons of LNG. The facility is operated by Egyptian LNG, a joint venture with both Egyptian and international shareholders including Shell, PETRONAS, and TotalEnergies. The exports demonstrate Egypt’s active role in supplying natural gas to European and regional markets.
