The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has endorsed Princess Chichi Ojei, a prominent Delta state born politician and astute administrator as its presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.

The party at its national convention held at its national secretariat Abuja, on Sunday also elected 28 new National Working Committee (NWC) that would pilot the affairs of the party in the next four years.

In his acceptance speech, the National Chairman of APM, Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, said that the new national officers emerged in accordance with the party’s Constitution registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“The democratic, peaceful and orderly conduct of this election has reaffirmed our belief in constitutional governance and reinforced our hope for enduring democracy in Nigeria. The tasks ahead are enormous and call for patriotism, unity, diligence, purposeful, visionary and progressive leadership.
“As a leading political party in Nigeria, so much is required and expected of our great party, APM, to point the way forward to our long-suffering compatriots who have been impoverished, oppressed, suppressed and subdued by the present and past governments in the country,” Dantalle said.
He also urged Nigerians to participate actively in the electoral process, assuring that with the new technology introduced by INEC in conducting elections, there is no doubt that people’s vote will count in the general election and APM government will emerge to make Nigeria great again.
On the state of the nation, the APM boss said that the state of the nation is bad, that citizens are killed, kidnapped and tortured daily as governments at all levels woefully failed to protect and secure the populace in clear violation of Section 14(2)b of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
According to him, that section states clearly that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government and that sadly, Nigerians have experienced more carnage than dividends of democracy since 1999 the nation returned to representative governance.

“The forthcoming 2023 general election provides another opportunity to save the nation from clueless leadership. Our great party fielded credible candidates to contest various offices.

“Nigerians have suffered enough from recycled politicians who have nothing to offer except pains, depression and confusion that have impoverished our dear country and turned this giant of Africa into the poverty capital of the world besieged by terrorists, insurgents, bandits, militants and kidnappers.

“Together, we will rebuild our nation, our students will return to school, our youth will be gainfully employed, our economy will bounce back, naira strengthened and appreciate regularly. Nigerians will live in peace together as one people,” Dantalle said.
