The World Bank Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP) for Northeast (Yobe) Task Team were in Damaturu, Yobe state for implementation and supervision support mission on Thursday.

.The World Bank MCRP Task Team Leader, (TTL),Fuad Malkawi with the national project coordinator for the Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project, Abuja Coordination Office, Mohammed Danjuma and other Technical Staff of the North-East Recovery and Stabilisation Programme (NERSP/NEDC) inspected  MCRP projects supported by the World Bank in the state.

They were received by the MCRP Yobe State Project Coordinator, Musa Idi Jidawa, and led to the site of the reconstructed medical Store, reconstruction and upgrade Doctors Lodge and Women Skills acquisition centre equiped with demonstration class rooms respectively.

Speaking, Jidawa said the supervision mission will surely achieve a lot in terms of technical discussions to deepen their understanding of the implementation strategy for the MCRP-Additional Financing.

Jidawa recalled that during a similar visit by the team in May this year, a lot have been learned and many frontiers have been unlocked through the technical discussions which involved stakeholders from the line MDAs, contractors and consultants as well as the representatives of the community structures among others.

“This visit will further explore other frontiers by taking a look at our activities to strengthen implementation capacity.

“We have already started the implementation of the Additional Financing (AF) on a sound footing, a capacity-building programme for Local Government staff has commenced and the implementation has been seamless. Distribution of Animal traction livelihood support is ongoing, almost 41% completed”, he said.

He commended the team for their tireless support and for being prompt in reviewing the submissions and timely clearance to commence activities.

On his part, Malkawi commended MCRP for proper coordination of the projects and the documentation of the success stories of the MCRP in the state.
