The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) has commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari over the demise of his Chief of Staff, Malam Abba Kyari, as a result of COVID-19 infection.
Prof. Bello Agaie, President of the association, said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to him, the news of Kyari’s demise is a great shock to the veterinary professionals in the country.
“There is no doubt that Malam Abba Kyari was an astute administrator, a banker of repute, a forthright personality and a committed statesman who gave his life to public service and the good of Nigerians.
“For us in the animal health sector, his love for agriculture, particularly the veterinary medical profession, its growth and development in Nigeria will be fondly remembered.
“We pray Allah to forgive his transgressions, grant him mercies and admit him to Al Jannah firdaus.
“May Allah grant Your Excellency in particular and his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“Please do accept the respect and assurances of our members’ highest regards,” Agaie said. (NAN)
