You may find this interesting: Happening this WEEK: The biggest gathering of young people in #Africa is taking place in Uganda. The 3rd APRM youth symposium will be hosted by Uganda from July 4-9, 2022 under the theme, ‘AU@20: Repositioning the Youth Agenda for a Transformative Continent,’ at Speake Resort Munyonyo.
The one-week symposium will be opened by President Yoweri Museveni of #Uganda, who will give a key-note address.
The symposium will bring together up to 800 participants from the global south and European countries to discuss and share experiences on matters that affect progress of young people.
This year, the conference will be a hybrid, being both physical and virtual. It will take place at the physical venue and virtual will join online to interact with speakers and other participants in physical attendance.
Uganda in partnership with the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) continental secretariat, the African Governance Architecture, African Union and other development partners is organising the symposium that aims at equipping youth with #governance, #leadership and #development skills.
This is a follow up of the Second #APRMYouth Symposium on strengthening Youth participation in Governance processes towards a Universal ascension that took place in September 2021 in #Nairobi, #Kenya.
The #APRM was established in 2003 by the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) as a tool for African leaders to share experiences, re-enforce best practices, identify deficiencies and assess their capacity, achievements and failures, especially on the governance question.
