SUBSEA 7 SECURES MAJOR WEST AFRICAN CONTRACT FOR STRATEGIC FPSO CONNECTION PROJECT
International subsea engineering contractor Subsea 7 has been awarded a significant contract in West Africa that will see the company managing the transportation and installation of flexible pipelines, umbilicals, and associated subsea components for a floating production, storage and offloading vessel connection. The comprehensive project scope also encompasses pre-laying activities for an upcoming drilling campaign, demonstrating the integrated nature of modern offshore developments.
Project management and engineering work will commence immediately at Subsea 7’s specialized facilities in Sutton, United Kingdom, and Suresnes, France, leveraging the company’s international expertise and technical capabilities. Offshore operations are scheduled to begin in 2026, allowing sufficient time for thorough planning and preparation of the complex subsea installation activities.
Jerome Perrin, Vice President for Africa, Middle East, and Turkiye at Subsea 7, emphasized the collaborative approach that enables cost-effective and reliable offshore solutions. “Our close and agile collaboration with our clients allows us to make possible cost-effective and reliable offshore solutions for their needs,” Perrin stated. “We are pleased to be able to support this client in executing such a strategically important project in West Africa.”
The contract award reinforces Subsea 7’s strong position in the West African market and demonstrates continued confidence in the company’s ability to deliver complex subsea projects in challenging offshore environments. The project represents the type of integrated subsea development that is becoming increasingly common as operators seek to maximize efficiency and minimize costs in offshore oil and gas developments.
