Global technology company Oceaneering has secured a valuable multi-year contract from energy major bp for work on the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim field, located offshore Mauritania and Senegal.
Under the terms of the agreement, Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group will deliver subsea inspection, maintenance and repair services, alongside remotely operated vehicle services at the landmark field. The company will additionally lead project management, engineering and integration services, utilizing one of its versatile multi-purpose vessels.
“Oceaneering has a track record of safely providing inspection, maintenance and repair solutions globally. We believe that our expertise in delivering high-quality subsea solutions in harsh environments, utilizing our advanced products and services, was a key element to winning this contract,” stated Ben Laura, COO of Oceaneering.
The contract spans three years with a potential two-year extension option. Engineering and pre-mobilization activities are already underway, with field operations set to commence in Q2 2025.
The GTA field, positioned on the marine border between Senegal and Mauritania, celebrated a major milestone by shipping its first LNG cargo in April 2025. The first phase of this groundbreaking project has capacity to produce 2.4 million tons of LNG annually, marking it as the first major gas project in the promising MSGBC region.
