The spokesman of Obi/Datti Campaign Council Dr. Yunusa Tanko has expressed shock over the sudden death of human rights activist and a hero of Nigerian democracy, Comrade Ariyo Dare Atoye.
Special Adviser Media and Publicity to Dr. Yunusa, Mr Omole Olusegun,
in a statement said the Obi/Datti campaign spokesman sympathised with the immediate family of the late Ariyo.
Tanko described the late Human Rights Activist as a hero of Nigerian democracy.
“My heart goes to the family, government and the entire people of Ekiti state; may the good Lord console us all.
“The late Ariyo died as a hero fighting to rescue Nigeria from total collapse; may God Almighty grant him eternal rest.
“Posterity will also be fair to him for his effort in helping to actualize the Electoral Act and in protecting our hard earned democracy,” he said.
Yunusa added that Atoye was a great, brave and a voice of the voiceless.
He expressed regret that despite fighting for the actualisation of the Electoral Act, Ariyo did not live to witness its compliance.
