The North East Governor’s forum has commended President Muhammadu Buhari and security agencies for sustaining the fight against insurgency in the region.
They stated this Friday in a communique read by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state.
The governors expressed concern on the mass movement of bandits and the vulnerability of the region.
The forum noted the link between mining activities and insecurity and resolved to ensure strict compliance of the Land Use Act.
The governors also expressed concern over low power supply to the region and called on the federal government to expedite action on the construction of the Mambilla hydro power project.
The forum commended the federal government for establishing University of Health Sciences in Azare, and called on humanitarian agencies to provide support to flood victims in the region.
