Data from the Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) indicates that Nigeria’s daily average crude oil production in February declined by about 5% compared to January’s output.

According to the data, Nigeria’s daily average crude oil production for February 2025 stood at 1,465,006 barrels per day (bpd), dropping from 1,538,697 bpd in January. This figure falls short of the country’s OPEC quota of 1.5 million bpd. “The average crude oil production was 98% of the OPEC quota (1.5 million bpd),” NUPRC noted in the report.

Despite the decline, the report highlights that Nigeria recorded a peak production of 1.7 million bpd in February, while the lowest recorded was 1.6 million bpd. The figures include condensates, which OPEC does not factor into crude oil production calculations. “The daily average production in February was 1,671,953 barrels per day, comprising crude oil (1,465,006 bpd) and condensate (206,948 bpd),” the report stated.

In total, Nigeria produced 41,020,155 barrels of crude oil in February, compared to 47,699,593 barrels in January. The top-performing oil terminals in February included Forcados (7.75 million barrels), Bonny (6.3 million barrels), Qua Iboe (4.28 million barrels), Escravos (3.87 million barrels), Odudu (2 million barrels), and Tulja-Okwuibome (1.89 million barrels).

Meanwhile, OPEC is yet to release its Monthly Oil Market Report for February.
