In a bold move toward technological self-reliance, Nigeria has unveiled an impressive array of locally assembled products developed in partnership with a Chinese company, including vehicles, laptops, water dispensers, and innovative solar-powered technologies.

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) presented these hybrid innovations—combining electricity and fuel-based systems with predominantly locally sourced materials—during a Strategic Focused Group Meeting on Made-in-Nigeria Products in Sokoto State.

“These technologies will eventually be fully transferred to Nigeria to enhance our industrial capacity and stimulate economic growth,” said NASENI Coordinator Muhammad Ndaman, highlighting their alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The showcase featured solar irrigation systems, home solar energy units, lithium batteries, energy-efficient street lamps, and animal feed mill machines among other innovations, reflecting NASENI’s commitment to eco-friendly mobility and world-class electronics development.

At the event, Bank of Industry Managing Director Hajiya Habiba Sambawa encouraged entrepreneurs to access the government’s N75 billion loan schemes offering up to N5 million in funding, while entrepreneur Alhaji Ahmed Tambari called for restructured loan systems to better support small-scale businesses and unlock Sokoto State’s untapped business potential.
