The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) has formed a strategic partnership with global offshore energy contractor Subsea7, signing a Memorandum of Understanding that aims to propel Namibia’s rapidly developing offshore energy sector following recent significant discoveries.

This collaboration establishes a framework for knowledge sharing, competency building, and workforce development, with the goal of driving innovation, enhancing safety, and supporting sustainable growth in Namibia’s energy industry. The partnership will strengthen NAMCOR’s capabilities in managing complex SURF (Subsea, Umbilical, Riser, Flowlines) development projects while leveraging Subsea7’s extensive expertise and innovative technologies.

“These partnerships are designed to create synergies within the industry to better guide us as we grow the nascent oil and gas sector,” said Interim Managing Director of NAMCOR, Victoria Sibeya. “We are excited to be at the forefront of value creation in Namibia’s energy landscape.”

Steve Tate, Subsea7’s VP Pursuits Southern Africa, expressed optimism about the collaboration: “This MoU marks the beginning of a strong, long-term relationship with NAMCOR, and is pivotal in advancing the nascent energy sector in Namibia.”
