Lewandowski

FC Bayern Munich are going to accept the latest offer by FC Barcelona for Robert Lewandowski, according to Manuel Veth.

As per the update, the deal is nearing completion with only the final few details pending to be confirmed between the clubs.

The transfer could be finalised within the next day as Bayern are looking to end the constant drama that has been unfolding regarding the future of the Polish striker.

The Bavarians have, in the last few days, grown frustrated by the actions of Lewandowski as he tried to force a move to Camp Nou.

Hence, they are looking to complete the deal as soon as possible, as they look to free up funds for their pursuit of Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.

The impact of Lewandowski’s imminent exit on the German champions is also lightened by the signing of Sadio Mane, who is known to operate in the central space in attack from time to time.

Sport1’s Kerry Hau reported that the 33-year-old striker attended today’s DFL photoshoot with his teammates at the Allianz Arena.

He also claimed that if the deal with Barça is not finalised on Saturday, the Bayern bosses expect the Polish striker to attend the team presentation.

Lewandowski has been reported to be fascinated by the idea of joining and leading the attack of a club of the stature of Barca, and will also be willing to take a pay cut to join the five-time Champions League winner from Catalonia.

It has been suggested that the 33-year-old Poland captain has accepted a three-year contract from the Blaugrana.

And now FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich are close to an agreement, with the deal likely to be finalised imminently.
