Judges of the High Court of Justice, Kogi state will commence their annual vacation on Monday, 1st August, 2022.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Information Officer of Kogi state Judiciary, Mr Saqeeb Saeed, which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Monday.

The statement said the annual vacation is pursuant to Order 9, Rule (4)(2) of the High Court (Civil Procedure Rules), 2006, under the hand of the Hon. Acting Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon. Justice Josiah Joe Majebi.

“This declaration entails that apart from the Vacation Judge appointed by the Hon. Acting Chief Judge, all other Judges of the High Court of Justice of the state would proceed on the annual one month vacation on Monday, 1st August, 2022.

“The vacation will last up to Monday, 26th September, 2022 while normal court sittings at all the Divisions of the High Court of Justice across the state will commence the next day, Tuesday, 27th September, 2022” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Acting Chief Registrar of the High Court of Justice, Barrister Jubril Ibrahim Oladimeji has disclosed that His Lordship, the Hon. Acting Chief Judge, has appointed Hon. Justice Rukayyat Ayoola of the High Court of Justice as the Vacation Judge for the period of the vacation.

He stated that Hon. Justice Ayoola will attend to urgent Criminal Matters and Civil Motions emanating from across the State while sitting at the High Court of Justice Headquarters in Lokoja.
