Pastor and politician, Rev. Okechukwu Obioha, has said that God told him vividly in 2019 that it would be the turn of Ndigbo, the people of South East to produce the next president for Nigeria.

Obioha, a pastor with the Assemblies of God, said that it was that revelation that spurred him to form a political pressure group, “South East for President,’ SEFORP, which has traversed the length and breadth of Nigeria canvassing support that Ndigbo should be allowed to produce Nigeria president come, 2023.

“By 2023, there will be a Nigerian president of South East extraction.  In 2019, I heard from God that by 2023 when Nigeria will be 63, an Igbo man will be president of Nigeria.”

Obioha who disclosed this in Enugu at the Conference for Obi/Datti presidential support groups in Enugu organised by Alliance for a New Nigeria, ANN, at the Hotel Cordial, Enugu, said that since Obi emerged the presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party, they have channeled their energy to ensure that Peter Obi emerged the president come 2023.

“That is what made me to set up South East for President, SEFORP.  For the past three years, I have been traversing every part of Nigeria to see that 2023 is for the Igbo man to become president.

“We should go back to the grassroots to galvanise support for Peter Obi.  If we don’t do this, all the million matches and support groups will come to naught,” Obioha said pointing out that SEFORP has 78 chapters all over Nigeria.

Speaking on the reason for organising the Conference, the Alliance for a New Nigeria, ANN, the Director of Legal and Communication, Barr Ejike Nwobodo, said that there were lots of Obi support groups and for this reason, it would be nice for the various groups to come together to achieve a common objective instead of working at cross purposes.

Nwobodo noted that the aim of the conference is not that the groups would be subsumed by ANN or that they would all collapse their structures but that there should be a synergy so that one group could be of assistance to another.

“There is a lot of support groups and they are working independently, so we decided that we should come together for a common objective. We are not asking the various groups to collapse their structures but we are saying that there should be a synergy to achieve a common goal to ensure that we achieve our objective.

“A support group that has finance can assist others that may not have access to much funds.  We are not saying that all the support groups should be subsumed into Alliance for a New Nigeria,” he said.

Also speaking through a zoom, the chairman of Obi-Datti campaign organisation in USA, Prof. Eddie Okparaoji, called on all the support groups to do everything humanly possible to ensure that Obi is elected president, saying that they could do this by volunteering their vehicles, buildings and monies to see that the objective is achieved.
