EUROPEAN SURVEY GIANT GEOXYZ MAKES HISTORIC AFRICAN DEBUT WITH STRATEGIC NAMIBIAN EXPANSION
In a landmark expansion that marks its first footprint on the African continent, renowned European survey company GEOxyz has officially opened its inaugural African branch in Walvis Bay, Namibia. This strategic move represents a significant milestone in the company’s international growth strategy and signals a long-term commitment to serving the rapidly evolving Southern African market.
The decision to establish operations in Namibia stems from the country’s prime central location, robust business environment, and surging demand for survey services across both offshore and onshore infrastructure sectors. From this strategically positioned base, GEOxyz will efficiently coordinate and support projects throughout the entire Southern African region.
Leading this groundbreaking venture is Jacques Vancayseele, a seasoned industry veteran with over seven years of expertise at GEOxyz and deep-rooted connections to both South Africa and Namibia. His leadership promises to forge a strong bridge between GEOxyz’s established European operations and its ambitious African expansion plans.
“I’m excited to lead this new chapter for GEOxyz in Southern Africa,” Vancayseele expressed enthusiastically. “This region holds immense potential, and with a dedicated local presence, we’re better positioned to deliver tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of our clients while contributing to local growth and development.”
The new office will initially function through close collaboration between GEOxyz’s European and African teams, with long-term goals centered on building a fully independent, locally-led operation. The company has committed to hiring local talent, partnering with regional institutions, and investing in comprehensive knowledge transfer programs. Additionally, GEOxyz will continue its tradition of working closely with local schools to train the next generation of marine data specialists and surveyors.
CEO Patrick Reyntjens highlighted that while Namibia represents GEOxyz’s first African venture, the company maintains focus on broader global expansion, with future developments anticipated in West Africa, Asia, and South America.
